Rising Online Job Scams in the Name of Alibaba, Daraz Amazon & Others

Beware! Rising Online Job Scams in the Name of Alibaba, Daraz Amazon & Others

In the digital age, the internet has opened many doors to job opportunities. Unfortunately, it has also opened doors for scammers to deceive innocent people, especially those who are desperate to earn a livelihood online. Fake online jobs that promise high earnings with little effort have become a trap for thousands. In countries like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and others, such frauds are increasing daily—many disguised as part-time remote jobs from reputed companies like Alibaba, Daraz, Amazon, and TikTok.

This blog post is a wake-up call for everyone seeking online income. Learn about the methods used by scammers and how you can protect yourself and others.

1. The Alibaba Investment Fraud

Many victims report receiving WhatsApp or Telegram messages saying:

“Earn Rs.3,000 to Rs.30,000 daily by working with Alibaba! Easy task, just invest and complete orders!”

They’re told they will be assigned "virtual tasks" like boosting sales or completing fake product orders to increase product rankings. Here's how the trap works:

  • You are told to "invest" a small amount (e.g., Rs.1,000) to begin.
  • You do a few tasks and see quick profits (e.g., Rs.1,200 or Rs.1,500).
  • Then, bigger tasks appear that require Rs.5,000 or Rs.10,000.
  • If you can't complete a full cycle or don’t invest more, your previous money is locked and declared "unrecoverable."

In reality, there is no connection with Alibaba. It’s a network of scammers using fake names and logos to steal your money. Once they get your trust and larger investment, they disappear.

2. Daraz Task Fraud Scheme

Another popular scam that is circulating is the Daraz task scam. Victims are approached via WhatsApp or even job listing websites like OLX, Rozee.pk, or Facebook.

They are told:

“Daraz is hiring freelancers to complete order simulations and improve product visibility.”

The steps are very similar to Alibaba scams:

  • You’re asked to create a fake buyer account.
  • You're assigned to "simulate" purchases by paying from your own funds.
  • You're promised that your investment will return with profit after "task completion."
  • The more you invest, the more you're promised to earn.

Eventually, they will ask for a large lump-sum investment for a “final task” to unlock your total balance. If you fail to pay or delay, your money is gone.

Remember: No official company like Daraz will ever ask you to invest your own money for doing tasks.

3. The TikTok or YouTube Monetization Scam

In this scam:

  • You're told that you can earn from YouTube or TikTok monetization programs.
  • You are promised followers, likes, watch time, and revenue in exchange for money.
  • Fake dashboards are shown with growing earnings, and you are encouraged to "upgrade" your package to access funds.

After you keep upgrading, the system suddenly stops responding, or you’re told your account is “under review.”

These scams feed on people’s dreams of becoming influencers or earning passive income, but they’re completely fake and have no connection with real monetization programs of TikTok or YouTube.

4. Captcha Entry, Data Entry & Typing Jobs

One of the oldest but still widespread scams is data entry or typing jobs, such as:

People are offered Rs.25,000 to Rs.50,000 per month, but:

  • They are first asked to pay a registration fee.
  • Once paid, either no work is provided, or you get impossible targets.
  • If you fail, you're told you violated the agreement, and now you owe them a penalty.

Fake legal notices and blackmail are used to extort more money.

5. Forex & Crypto Investment Traps

Scammers also pretend to offer jobs like:

They show fake profits on dashboards and ask you to invest more. Once you've invested a good amount, the app or website stops working, or your funds get "locked for verification."

These fake platforms have no real trading backend—just visual dashboards designed to fool.

6. Work-from-Home Amazon Job Scams

Amazon is another name used frequently:

  • You receive messages that Amazon is hiring remote workers.
  • You're given tasks to "increase ratings" or "simulate orders".
  • You’re told to deposit money for account activation, task balance, or software.

Like others, it's just another "task scam" with fake Amazon branding.

o    LinkedIn

o    Upwork

o    Fiverr

4.    Search for reviews: Google the name + "scam" before trusting.

5.    If you feel suspicious, stop and talk to someone you trust.

o    FIA Cyber Crime Wing (Pakistan): https://complaint.fia.gov.pk

o    Local police or cybercrime cell

📢 Final Words

In today’s economy, it's natural to look for extra income. But don't let urgency blind you. These scammers know how to play with psychology, especially people’s hopes, financial needs, and trust in big names like Alibaba or Daraz.

If you’ve been scammed, don’t stay silent. Speak up, report it, and help others avoid the same mistake.

Stay informed. Stay cautious. Don’t fall for easy-money traps—because there’s no shortcut to real success.
