قرآن میں اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے

"کہہ دو: کیا جاننے والے اور نہ جاننے والے برابر ہو سکتے ہیں؟" (الزمر: 9)

اسلامی تاریخ اس بات کی گواہ ہے کہ جب مسلمان علم کے میدان میں آگے تھے، تب دنیا ان کی تقلید کرتی تھی۔

امام بخاری نے حدیث کا علم محفوظ کیا، ابنِ سینا نے طب کے اصول بنائے، الخوارزمی نے الجبرا ایجاد کیا، اور البیرونی نے زمین کے پیمائش کے اصول وضع کیے۔ یہ سب اس بات کی مثالیں ہیں کہ تعلیم اسلام میں صرف دنیاوی نہیں بلکہ روحانی ترقی کا ذریعہ بھی ہے۔

درخت ایک نسل کو سایہ دیتا ہے، لیکن تعلیم آنے والی کئی نسلوں کو روشنی بخشتی ہے۔
ایک تعلیم یافتہ ماں اپنے بچوں کی تربیت بہتر انداز میں کرتی ہے، ایک باعلم استاد قوم کی بنیاد مضبوط کرتا ہے، اور ایک باشعور نوجوان اپنی سرزمین کو ترقی کی راہ پر گامزن کرتا ہے۔
اسی لیے کہا جاتا ہے کہ "اگر تم ایک سال کا منصوبہ بنانا چاہتے ہو تو فصل اگاؤ، اور اگر صدیوں کا سوچنا چاہتے ہو تو تعلیم میں سرمایہ لگاؤ۔"
